I love games of all types, but go will always be my favorite.

New! Hand-made Go board. Made from Australian hardwoods. W/ hand carved, leather-inlaid lines. Posted by Hello

How I came to know the game.

It was almost 20 years ago when my "Jam session" drummer friend Bill back in New York first showed me his "authentic" Go board & Stones. As I remember he was in the middle of a game with "J.C." ( no... Not that J.C.)a computer/mathematics buddy of his. Immediately I was struck by the beauty of the game in progress, I don't think that I cared that the stones were slate & shell or that the board was Katsura. I have always been big on board games but until that day Go & Wei chi were games I only hoped to play. On that day I was lucky enough to see two great players in combat and I found it simply beautiful, almost in the same way I have always found NYC beautiful. The beauty I saw on that day lives in me still, like the memory of my first girlfriend, Mary back at Longfellow Elementary and it has driven me to create some very unique Go boards of my own (pic above), not traditional but beautiful.
Yes, that was nearly 20 years ago and I have played many games since then. Ironically never with Bill or J.C.! Mostly because I've lived in Australia for the last 15 years or so and our relationship was based upon music and not GO, But, hey, life is long and I may get to play with bill in the fullness of time. Thanks Bill!
